And the Dragon came home!

I have been searching for my other garden dragon for some time, and to tell you the truth I'll just bet he's not only been hiding from me but changing hiding places every time I looked in the old addition.
  But I found him at last and he's in the garden with the rest of the celtic grouping. So, take a look and there are even new dragonflies and their wings glow in the dark. Too cool or what?

And now there are TEN!

Ten garden beds, and one and 1/2 to go, and the formal garden will be done. I never thought I would get this far, but look at it now. It is so very much better then I ever imagined it would look like.

Then I worked on finishing the playhouse. Look at how cute this has turned out to be.

Even got the sand between the bricks now. Next I am making curtains for the windows and then will come moving-in day. lol. I have furniture that will fit just right.




As if this was not enough I also worked on the pond wall where I have to build it up in order to make it deep enough and not dig though any more rocks and boulders. Still have the waterfall to work on and the other side of the pond then seal the seams together, and I'll have my koi pond ready to bring home my fish.
  I really cannot believe how much I have gotten done this year. Had you asked me before I got started, I'd have said "no way".
Sheer determination.
So, I need to rest a little today and work some more tomorrow. Until then enjoy!

And this makes nine.

Nine flower beds and about 2 and 1/2 to go. The formal garden will be reborn. I transplanted some Irises and also put some other flowers in the ground, so now I wait to see if anything will grow.

  I found my stepping stone I was looking for and added it to one of the flower beds.
 The I worked on the playhouse and will upload pictures tomorrow. The last thing I did tonight was set the pond side with rocks to raise the pool level, to be deep enough for my koi fish to winter over. It will make the pond bigger and deeper then before. I still have to work on the waterfall and once I have that done I can fill the pond and try out the waterfall. I really hope it all works.

Another bed is done!

I think there are only two beds left now, but at least I got another one done today.

And I got the playhouse varnished today and tomorrow I will get the plexy glass up over the windows and finish with the couple of other things I need to do at the playhouse.  Nothing like being a kid at heart!

A long day

I got the first section of train track read to lay, and I don't think I will get much more done for that. It takes so much work to just get ready to lay track because of the quack grass, that it will have to wait till next year, and then I can hire someone to help me.
  I finished another flower bed. I think there is about 4 more to do and the formal garden will be done {yaaaaaaa!}
  But best of all tonight, was the area where I decided to put my mushroom table and seats. It looks like a little bit of Alice and Wonderland there now. I love it! Take a look and see what you think.

A sunken bathtub!

The garden railway is at last under construction. I got the bathtub sunk in the ground today and added thyme and creeping plants around the sides. The cottage is the first to be set, and I will be starting the railroad bed and setting the other two cottages and the church tomorrow. I love the look and feel of what is developing for the beginning of my Keltic Knot Railway.
  It has changed directions from what I started to think was a way to go, and I think this will work very well. So take a look and tell me what you think.

Two more beds to rest!

Another two more flower beds and it's coming together. I also finished the bed up next to the house, so I will be ready to plant my Irises when they arrive next month. I'm moving what few Irises I have been able to find under the grass in the four square garden, but it looks like the flower beds there will have to wait till spring next year. I will try to finish the formal garden, and then get back to the waterfall. I guess I had better slow down a little, so I'll be ready for my trip thats coming up fast.

I love flowers, don't you? I think my garden dragon loves them as well, because he looks like he's going to guard them forever.
This is how the garden is shaping up. I love the green gazing ball.
I read that the Victorians thought the gazing ball was good luck. And that you should never give your gazing ball away because you would give away your good luck if you did. I didn't know that, but I love the gazing balls. They are kind of like panoramic mirrors of the garden.
  So here is the update of the garden.

I've finished four flower beds so
far, and more to do. I took time out today to mow the lawn and finished about five minutes ahead of the rain. How's that for timing? Don't you love this dragon?
